The Making of Copart
Copart Inc was founded in 1982 when Willis J. Johnson launched a single salvage yard in Vallejo, California. Today, we are a global leader in online vehicle auctions and a premier destination for the resale and remarketing of vehicles.
Following a 2007 expansion into the UK, Copart Ireland was established in 2015 with a purpose-built Operation Centre located in Castledermot, Co Kildare. Since launching, we have developed strong and trusted relationships with partners in the insurance, lease, and automotive trade sectors, as well as actively buying and selling vehicles from and for the general public.

Copart Ireland’s head office is located in Castledermot, Co Kildare, where vehicles are collected, processed, and prepared for online auction by our specialist team.
